This letter was sent by Elia and Rook from Asuren on the 6th of Winterdusk and received by the party on the 8th of Winterdusk.
Hello, you all!
Elia here writing this time. Rook and I loved getting all your letters after we got back into town! I’m so sorry we missed you, we were out investigating a potential lead on our bizarre bio-manipulators. I won’t bore you with the details, but we had some successes! I believe we’ve finally nailed down their motivation and, after our research here in Asuren, I think we’ve finally got some potential suspects. Hopefully the Synod agrees, but we’ll see. Rook’s getting a bit antsy, but this recent hunt helped a lot. My Keeper patron told me you guys had picked up a job with the Keepers? That’s fantastic! I know a lot of people are very wary of the guild, but I’ve loved working for them and Rook’s sorta coming around. I am sorry to hear that Iolas mutated, though it sounds like that’s all fixed? Hopefully you’re doing better, Iolas, let me know either way in your next letter.
We’re very pleased to hear the work you’ve already gotten yourselves into! Hopefully you’re not jumping in over your heads, and hopefully you’re making sure you only do jobs you’re actually interested in? Or, you know, capable of doing? Learning to “shop around” to find where you could help best was one of the hardest lessons for me and Rook. Still kind of is. It can be difficult to walk past a problem when you come from a town like Sanctuary!
We’ll be in Asuren for the next week or so, after which we might actually be heading up to Divinity’s Reach, depending on what the Synod has to say about the evidence we’re presenting. We’ll give you a shout when we get to Divinity’s Reach, see if you’re around. You do the same if we happen to miss each other!
Stay safe out there! Some of the nastiest forces come out to play during the dark of winter, even here in the Twin Kingdoms.
Old Lords protect you, and may Lord Varis guide you’re works,
- Elia and Rook
