Hey you two! I hope this letter finds you well. We’ve only been running around on Coricona for a week and a half, but its been an eventful week and a half. We picked up some information on some strange things happening near the center of the Twin Kingdoms, kithkin guards potentially hallucinating and even some kithkin adventurers and traders who had just up and vanished! So we got… well, we could generously call it a wagon, for a good price and headed out.
Along the way we found a old, but very smart, warhorse who was running around. We chased him down and he had the gnarliest scar from an old battle across his chest. We did manage to return him, and found he had disappeared from his paddock. Despite the giant hole that was gnawed through his door by what appeared to be every native species of the savannah of the Twin Kingdoms on the gate to the paddock, there was only a little blood from where the warhorse scratched himself and no tracks. It was like he was picked up and dropped off 20 miles from home. I wish we could do more to help (and I’m hoping we can return and maybe do something more), but we have no idea what happened. I’m passing on the notes we got and the location of it, if its something you guys might know about.
After being flummoxed (though I found what I think is a Dryad’s grove nearby), we headed to where the guards were experiencing those hallucinations. We chatted with a coatl from the Lands of Light that a Paladin had called some days previous, who confirmed the presence of numerous creatures and something evil about. So we spent a couple nights trying to attract some attention and learning some new magic. Whatever it was, however, didn’t take any of our bait. So, we went over the nearby hills with a fine-tooth comb and found some peculiar tracks, leaving small, black stone shards near them. Curious, we followed the tracks six miles out, until we found a den, hidden behind some gnarly thorns and more of those black stone shards. Ever curious, we went inside… and found an Onyx Bison, and a menagerie of animated statues it had created with its petrifying bite! The battle was fierce and I drained my mana to keep Akik, Foster and Tia alive, but we managed to put down the baneful bison.
Over the next couple days we looted the bison and the cave, collecting a large amount of gemstones, but not all of them. That double Faerie Day hit, and we got caught in an outcropping. Thankfully, after several hours of looking around, we met a Quickling Clique (known as the Hyacinth Clique) and made a deal. They teleported us out of the Outcropping. Unfortunately, we forgot to specify where. So, they dropped us 20 feet above the bay of Asuren. We managed to get out without too much trouble, and waited out the Faerie days. Unfortunately, while in the Feywoods, I had a couple spells spark and run wild. I’m hoping I don’t mutate, and its been a few days? So, maybe I’ll get lucky?
After the Faerie days, we made haste to Divinity’s Reach, not running into any real trouble along the way. The only oddity is a necromantic aura that’s sticking around on us and we’re going to have examined tomorrow. Hopefully nothing nasty, but if its a curse, hopefully easily removed. As it stands, we’ll be sticking around Divinity’s Reach for as long as Akik and Tia need to work on their gear. Might be here as long as two weeks? Not sure. If you guys come up here, we’re staying at the Hell’s Hound.
Sorry that we missed you guys, but you’re it! Hope you guys are well and your investigation is going well. We’ll hopefully catch up soon.
Included in the letter is the details regarding the quest Horsing Around, including relevant drawings and the location of the farm. Also included is a small letter of introduction for the owners.
